NEW DESIGN ~ “When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” *Lao Tzu*

I'm trying to free your mind Neo, but I can only show you the door.  You're the one that has to walk through it.

The Matrix is one of my favorite movies, beautifully & brilliantly choreographed!   The concept of the Matrix all boils down to the freeing of your mind, to find the answer that most of us essentially want to know, the question that gnaws at us like a beaver gnawing wood..."What is the meaning of life or my life?"

My mother's hand looked similar to this.
My Mom was diagnosed with RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) at the age of 16.  In the 60's doctors did not know as much as they do now about how to treat it.  Humph...on the real, they didn't know too much about it at all. Although my Mom was able to walk her bones were crippled.  So when she left my father, her abusive (not physically) husband, when I was a toddler you better believe me when I say we struggled.   We resided with my Aunt while my Mother worked odd jobs when she could find them.  Eventually, through the help of the government we were able to move into an apartment of our own.   Over the years my mother had several operations to try and straighten out her joints. Hips, hands, feet...we use to call her the original Bionic Woman, and "yes" she beeped when going through the metal detectors.  LOL!  Although, the many operations only slightly improved my mother's condition she never let this deter her from being the best she could possibly be.  My mother attended a Junior College, while working temp jobs and taking care of me.  She use to take me with her to school sometimes when there wasn't anyone who could watch me.  In essence I watched my mother struggle to earn her A.A Degree in hopes of securing a better job with more income. Through hard work, determination & freeing her mind of clearly known obstacles my mom was able to achieve securing, a good-paying job, a house, a car, and able to live a modest lifestyle.  Many people might say, "Well, your mother is one of the exceptions, not everyone can do what she did."   In return I say, "Why not?"   One of  the differences between people who succeed in life and those who don't, regardless of  what their struggles are, is they believe they can.  In essence they "Free their minds!"  My mother did not let the obstruction of a disability stand in the way of success.  She did not allow the discrimination that surrounds people with disabilities to inhibit her dreams or dictate her goals.  Watching my mother make sacrifices throughout her life to accomplish dreams and to give us a better life inspired me to do the same.

In a nutshell the message I'm trying to convey to you is, by allowing the possibilities of the "I can do" thought process to embrace your very being, you can do anything you put your mind to.
Free your mind of unnecessary obstructions, disabilities, troubles, conflicts, and what others think about you.
Free your mind of things that aren’t beneficial and essential to your well being.
Freeing your mind will give you the opportunity to celebrate you, your blessings, creative being, enjoy your self worth and become mentally focused on your future.

After expressing these heartfelt thoughts, it gives me great pleasure to introduce my latest design.  Inspired by my Cousin's vision about how not letting obstacles hold you back and my mother's endless determination...I give you ~

Twice in one day!! You have inspired me. Between you and two other people (you twice now) - my spirits have been lifted. I have just made myself a cup of coffee to get my thoughts organized to get back to writing a book I started in November. I know my obstacles ain't nothing but an excuse to procrastinate. I looooooooooooove that shirt!

I love this post so very much. It captures the true beauty of the potential a person has to achieve, if their mind is indeed free. Your mother is awe-inspiring. You are so blessed to have such a profound role model in your life. I will be speaking about and linking your post on my blog today, if you don't mind.
Thank you so much for this inspiring post.
